The area’s park system provides extensive outdoor activities. From lighted tennis courts and well-kept playgrounds to softball, baseball, soccer fields, and basketball courts, these parks serve families throughout the counties. Two country clubs offer golf courses, racquetball courts, swimming pools, and tennis courts for their members.

DuckThe counties are also a destination for nature lovers. Carroll County is ranked second in the nation for white-tailed deer. In late autumn, Leflore County's low-lying wetlands bring in duck and geese by the thousands.

Avid fishers enjoy the wealth of ponds and lakes including the Grenada Lake Reservoir, with more than 50 square miles of water surface, and Hugh White State Park. The area is also a popular destination for campers and water sports enthusiasts.

The Cottonlandia Museum plays host to the Cottonlandia Collection Competition, an exhibition of fine art by Mississippians. Other unique displays complement Cottonlandia's permanent collection of agricultural and natural history items throughout the year.

The Greenwood Little Theatre helps aspiring actors hone their craft while providing a full season of productions in their 250-seat facility.

B.B. KingThe Delta’s internationally known blues music adds a unique flavor to life in the area. Opening in 2008 is the B.B.King Museum and Delta Interpretive Center, soon to be a destination for blues and music lovers around the world.

The women's Volvo Tennis Team is competitive at regional and national tournaments. Tennis courts are available at public parks, both country clubs, and a racquet club.

The 300 Oaks Road Race brings serious runners from the mid-south for a sanctioned 10K race and gets local young runners involved in the 1 Mile Fun Run.
